Considering that this is a thread about Lebron James being in the Dunk Contest, I automatically assumed you were talking about Lebron. But I can see how I went wrong.

But recently its only the likes of rookies and sophmores entering the contest.
i would be nice to see VC, T-Mac (both who would probably get injured in the dunk off lol), Kobe, Wade, and Lebron

check out James White (Pacers second round pick), very athletic player...if hes in the dunk off this year, im pretty sure he'll take it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wqnDhL-a0v8 (dont mind the music lol)

They should still give him a chance to be in the competition. It would be interesting to see what the judges would be expecting of him.

I am a fan of James White, and he if he enters the dunk contest he will most probably win it. If he can pull off that through the legs form the free throw line he will definitly win.

You will never ever see that. Lebron just signed a three year contract extension, he's not making rookie money anymore. He won't be in any dunk contests.

I think it's actually the coaches and team officials that are the ones discouraging it, because they don't want their players getting hurt needlessly. Playing in the All-Star game is an honor, but anyone can get into the dunk contest. I mean look at the players that are in it every year.
