Re: Where will Devean George end up?
Ya, I gotta go with GTS on this one.
Seriously, there is no room on the roster for DGeorge, or for anyone else.
I don't believe we'll use the MLE or the BIE this year.
The offseason priorities will be to resign Sasha and Ronnie, then this roster is pretty much set.(And of course, start talking to Bynum)
Besides, we are already loader at the 3. (Ariza, Walton, Vlad and even Kobe, when Sasha comes in at the 2).
Remember, Pau becomes a 4 next year with Big Drew's return. And LO will see a lot of PT at the 3.
Mihm will excercise his player option and return, as he'll have no better offers IMO. So, basically, we'll be loaded up front.
C-Bynum, Mihm, maybe Mbenga (though Gasol will effectively be the back up center)
PF- Gasol, Odom, Turiaf
SF- Odom, Ariza, Walton, Vlad
Pretty scary for the rest of the NBA when you think about it, as the team we are starting up front in the WCF will effectively be our second unit next year.
Don't forget how good Bynum was becomming. I think he averaged like 19-12 after Thanksgiving. We were actually a better interior defensive team with him than we have been with Gasol in the middle. Besides, Gasol will be even more effective splitting his PT between the 4 and 5. How are teams going to match up with a startingFC of Bynum, Gasol and Odom? Remember that LO at the 3 insures that Kobe is defended by a guard, not a forward, as many teams switch a forward on him now.
I think we have 2 second rounders, our own and Charlotte's, and I'd expect to see us take a run at a PG (from the latest mock drafts I've seen, DCollison looks to be a 2nd rounder), since Fish is the only guy on the team over 30.
I don't think we'll do much on the outside, just save our coin to retain our youngs long term (Bynum, Sasha, Ronnie).
