He won't continue to score at this rate over his entire career, and his move to Miami has hampered his scoring as well

Sounds like an interesting "what if?" thread. Seems plausible enough. People act like his jumper is so broke that it can't improve. A lot of his bad shooting seems like it comes down to confidence. When he trusts the shot, we've seen him get hot and rattle off 9 or 10 in a row.

Kareem had a longer NBA Career because he was no longer the focal point of the Lakers offense in the mid 1980's. Can you imagine if Jabbar didn't demand a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks?

what? He's putting up the same #s as his MVP winning seasons. Pretty much top in every category

LeBron on his 36th birthday will be in his 18th season. He would have to manage 25 PPG over 18-19 seasons, or about 16-17 if his current PPG average stays the same(highly doubtful).

You have to be kidding?

That had nothing to do with why he had a longer Nba career (And he was indeed still the focal point of the Lakers offense *particularly in the half court* up until 1986).

Kareem having a long Nba career had a hell of alot more to do with his playing style and skillset.

I don't think anyone will ever break Kareem's record, it takes a lot of breaks to get there.
