    Arrow Stupid shit ESPN says...

I was just watching ESPN and they were discussing Durant's rumored Under Armour deal and they went to PTI to discuss it with Kornheiser and some Whitlock dude and the black dude no lie said

"I don't think he can carry the burden of being the face of a brand until he wins a championship."

The stupid shit these people say is alarming. How did I get hired on over there?

What other stupid shit have you heard them say on ESPN? Lets make this shit an archive.

well some of the most famous athletes, who are the face of a brands, are indeed champions...Tiger, Federer, Mickelson, etc.

    it's not ridiculous...actually a pretty accurate statement

So what's UA going to do? Drop Steph Curry and sign Tony Parker?

Whitlock is retard and rarely says things that make much sense. He has said much dumber things though.

Jordan was a cultural icon who changed the athletic shoe industry before he won a ring. Championships are not meaningful in this context.

Other ringless players like LeBron & AI were also the faces of their brands

Penny Hardaway never won shit, and his career was cut short, but still sold a shitload of sneakers.

Regardless if he wins a title or not, is he really that marketable?

Don't know the numbers, but he did say recently he was dropping the backpacks cause it associated with a kid.

"Durant admits his wardrobe off the court has evolved as he has grown and he is ready to shed the connection with the backpack that became part of him thanks to its presence around him during postgame news conferences.

"I still carry a backpack with me but I'd rather put on a suit and people know me for that," Durant said. "I think I ran with that a little bit, too. It's a change in the guard now. I would rather be buttoned up. A backpack is more associated with kid. I think I'm a grown up."
