Very good NBA starter
Lebron's versatility and ability play PF has helped tremendously
Without Kevin Love (and Varejao), Lebron has had to play PF much of the time.
He has defended the other team's PF (Noah, Gibson, Mirotic) extremely well.
And he has picked up his rebounding amazingly.
If he was a regular SF, Cleveland could not put him at PF so much. They would then have to give K. Perkins around 15 min a game...and LOL at the thought of that.
In the playoffs you don't get to sign new free agents obviously...so having someone like this on your team is extremely valuable, especially in today's league where injuries are all over the place.
We already saw Lebron do this in 2012 when Bosh was out. Now we are seeing it again.

I actually prefer to watch him play PF and think its a superior position for him

You realize he only defends pf's when he is the "pf" right? And that is what positions are, defensive. If positions were just based on what the player does offensively then lebron would be considered a guard

He defends PF's better than he does his own position. He actually has a lot of trouble guarding SF's with great first steps.

Current Noah would have trouble scoring in an open gym

that's because he plays in the east with no threats at PF. do you really think he could guard Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki or Zach Randolph??? do you!?

Nope, instead he gets the Brandon Bass's, Taj Gibson's, Amir Johnson's, and Nene's.

LeBron is leading BOTH TEAMS IN THE SERIES in points, rebounds, and assists... Yes, he's outrebounding the Bulls frontline.
He's also leading the Cavs in steals as well.

I agree. And it's not that he's playing PF only defensively, but the fact that he can defend it, means that if you're going to play a PF, you have to find someone for that PF to hide against.
It's the reason I thought Love would be a good fit next to him, because he can stretch the floor and you can play 0 in. But to do it Love needs to play center, and they just give up way too much defensively doing that. Because even as good as Lebron is at the hoop. He's not going to give you a ton of rim protection in the half court. Even while guarding PFs.
Bosh was a really nice fit. Even though he wasn't an elite interior defender. His length was huge on that end.
Lebron's all time perfect fit, probably to the disgust of both of them ... Lebron at PF, Garnett at C. Even the slight older but still functional Celtic Garnett.
