Default Let us be real about last night's game

Given the team KD's playing on and how easily he can have ISOs opportunities, which he did, without getting doubled and many failed ISOs plays he failed on, this makes you really appreciate the greatness of a prime Kobe. Kobe would have easily feasted on these plays and EASILY won the game for GS. Kobe can be easily argued as the GOAT 1v1 player, he literally had a counter for everything.

Where I'm getting at is that Durant has not surpassed Kobe as a player yet.

Also, if this is what the Rockets can do to Durant who has Curry and Klay as teammates, makes you really wonder what Pippen would have done.

I've been saying this to people (off this forum) for quite some time. They would not beat the Bulls. Plus, they turn the ball over way too much to beat them.

Lot of overreacting going on. KD is on Kobe's level.

Warriors have been injured a lot recently and are out of sync.

If basketball is 100% about counting stats and fg% then I agree with you completely.

If there is more to basketball like leadership, willing your team mentally, determination, heart. Then no KD is not even in the same stratosphere as Kobe.

Bran stans literally think basketball is played on paper. This isn't ****ing Sudoku.

Bean.

When he knew he could win a title during his second prime, he planted his ass in the post and dissected defenses beautifully; turned guys like Fisher into household names.

KD will NEVER be on Kobe's level.

Can you imagine Kobe or any real ass superstar ever having 0 assists with the shooters the Warriors have?

Kobe led 5 title teams in assists.

Not that assists mean you're a team player playing winning basketball, but DAMN, you'd think you could conjure up ONE assist on that team.

In Houston, Durant's had games of 1, 0, and 0 assists

I've always believed it's easier to throw KD off his game than Kobe. Too often I've seen teams get really physical with KD and force him into low % shots off the dribble; shots he's not good at making at all. KD's strength lies in his ability to get off high % looks because of his ridiculous length. Force him into something else, which is much easier said than done of course, but it's doable, and his efficiency goes down significantly. 5 of his 8 postseasons runs saw significant dips in his TS% from the regular season. He has 7 seasons shooting 50% FG or above in the regular season. Only 2 in the playoffs.

Kobe was just a lot more skilled scoring-wise and a better athlete on top of it. Not to mention his ability to create shots for others. He was simply a lot harder to contain. His efficiency from regular season to postseason is nearly identical. This is why I've always those @ realgm who would take peak/prime KD over Kobe.

More to basketball than your regular season TS%.

And let's not forget about all the times the refs saved Durant last night.

He was getting phantom free throws when the refs noticed he was getting scared and they had to be the ones to keep the game close.

Kobe was horrible shooting vs good defensive teams like Houston but I will give Kobe an edge because he would have had more than 0 assist.. In my opinion I think KD is actually a better one on one player but Kobe would get his players involved much better than KD has done so far.. Especially if he had Curry, Thompson, and others..

Durant isnt shooting all that bad and Kobe had series where his team won despite him shooting 30 something percent.. This Houston team is better than any TEAM Kobe ever played against..
