u talkin about how people rate movies 70/100 or something like that?

I have never had a curve in any of my classes, which is weird. I know a lot of people that go to the same school as me get curves. I just never have. There was one class where the grades were adjusted. Like 86 was an A- instead of a 90, but of course, it was a class I needed no help in, Chemistry. Shit like that is never in classes that are hard, haha. I never understood curving. If you get a 40, why the **** should that get curved to a 70? You don't know 70% of the material. I think teachers should either: A) teach better and/or B) Make the tests more reasonable so you don't have over half the class failing on tests.

Most of it is on the teacher. Whether they are a good teacher, an ass, etc. If they enjoy teaching. Whether or not your school is a research university.

There's hardly grade inflation here. They just use the full gamut of possibilities.

I guess. I mean to each their own, use whatever scale you want, but are we really breaking the shit down to percentage points?

I've yet to meet an american transfer student (or graduate student who went to an undergrad american school) who has not mentioned how LSE grades exams in a stricter fashion. I don't even care if my exams are graded stricter you're just being a gigantic douche for saying that there is "nothing more stupid" than this system. Its just different.

He got a 110 in a quiz, which is just means he answered everything correctly and got a "bonus" question right.

And really you have to be groundbreaking in the film world just to get a 100 on an essay in college? Doesn't that seem a little ridiculous?

Maybe you or someone else had an inadequate description. If no one gets above an 85, why have anything above an 85? Based on the narrative in this thread, that's pretty stupid. Combine that with your anecdotal judgments, and you have my point.

Grades are curved in american universities often because they do not want many of their students to drop out, which would make them look poorly in the rankings.

I understand why things are curved. I'm just making the point that I think curving is stupid.

Have you attended an American University? Do you have any proof of this? I have over 250 credits at three DI American universities and I have never had a curved class.

Hot tub time machine. Wasn't as good as I expected but I watched a cam version so was kinda shitty. Had some really funny parts tho. Kid from Sex drive was a let down.

Probably like 7\10.
