Never was an argument in the first place. It's a make or miss lead, other than his shot not falling Kobe had a great game. Same with Bird in the Finals 81. It's not all about how well you shoot.

Using his FG% in a game like that to discredit him is silly.

I urge Kobe fans to not be angry with Duncan, considering Duncan did it the right way and is a true great.

Kobe and Duncan are on the same level.

It's you know who that isn't on their level.

Kobe deserves respect for focusing on rebounding the ball and fighting through the fourth quarter (similar to Dirk's closing game in 2011), but a "great game" is stretching it.

No matter how people spin it, Kobe had 25% and 4 turnovers, his +/- for the game was 0, ORTG 88... so there's no statistical evidence of his having a particularly good game, certainly by his standards.

That's a problem because the eye test does nothing to counter that impression... while almost everyone shot poorly in a defensive, highly competitive contest, many of Kobe's shots were terrible, forced attempts (even for Kobe). His forcing the issue and wanting to be the hero at all costs was detrimental to his team.

Taking the full 48 minutes into account, Gasol was clearly the MVP of that game. Kobe was deservedly MVP for the series, though.
