I really dont like him that much, i dont just want to sign him because of convenience due to the fact he played a quarter of the season with us. He will ask for too much money for what he brings, and i hate those stupid float shots he does in the paint. He only shows up when he wants to.

Let him walk.

But hey if it were me I'd trade Bosh this summer too, so. Meh.

I seriously see him going to Knicks or staying with the Raptors.

Why was this moved to the Raptors' forum? It was perfectly fine in the main forum, because he is essentially a FA and can go to any of the 30 teams...

He is a terrible shooter with the worst form in the league. Or lack of form I should say.

Personally I think we should just let him walk. Sign Ariza or make an offer for Marvin Williams. I would much prefer those moves.

All the talk from NBA analysts is that he won't be getting any more than what Posey got (3 year 24 mill). If that's the case, then we'd be stupid not to sign him since we'd have plenty of $$$ to shore up our other holes without creating one in his absence.

I would give him 19.5M over 3 years.

Then we would still have another 7.5M to spend on FAs and also our MLE this summer.

Posey isn't making $8 mill per year. He's making the MLE.

How many teams will be offering Marion more than 6.5M?

If somebody wants to pay him more than that let him go.

He's old and on the decline.

Oops, you're right he's making 4 years 25 mill. Well at that price offering Marion any more than $8 mill looks even worse.

p.s. Ariza looked pretty darn great in last night's game. I'm even more inclined to take a reasonable run at him this offseason.

Yes he has learned well from Kobe....But there is one thing I worry about Ariza has been the league a little while and just now he's play well?
Looks like he could be another player just looking for a contract this summer. A la (Jerome James)
I'm just not sold on him and he is pretty damn inconsistant!

Marion has one thing on his side a lot more consistancy...

Just so everyone is aware from what I saw on Raps T.V. today we have only 10mil to work with and then our MLE so approximatly 15,585,000 to spend this off season...

Aside from trading Bosh its going to be a tough Off Season for BC if he doesn't trade Bosh we can only get one good wing player at least thats what I think.

The thing about Ariza is that he's a very good, unselfish defender. He's often the first man back in defensive situations and his length and smarts in the defensive end is the big reason he's on the Lakers starting unit.

I'm starting to get on board with this whole Ariza thing. Maybe we could take him at 3-4 mill/year and then sign Ben Gordon at 7-8 if that's possible.

The thing with Ariza that I noticed is he does a lot of things that don't show up on the stat sheet. A lot of the intangibles that need to be done for a team to be successful.

Ariza = 24mpg, 9ppg (46%), 4rpg, 2apg, 2spg
Graham = 20mpg, 8ppg (48%), 4rpg, 1apg, .5spg

Not a big difference between those two players this season other than steals per game and that Graham is a better free throw shooter. But if somebody asked you who you would take out of the two you would say Ariza. Just because he gives you those hustle plays every night. Maybe if he was starting on a Raptors squad next season he would get more shots and become more involved offensively and really start to shine and realize his potential. Who knows?
