Do yourself a favor and pretend to show ends after CELL. Seriously, pretend it ends. It really goes from a 4 star show to 1/2 star in a single transition.
In my opinion, the build of the Androids (pre-cell) were the best episodes after Saiyan saga.
Anyway, if by season two, you mean post-raditz. YES it's worth it.
Disregard this. Absolutely trash.
Season 2 starts a little after Gohan defeated Vegeta. He and Krillin are on their way to Namek to find the Namekian DragonBalls. And thanks everyone for the replies. I'll definitely take it up to Cell and go from there.
i was into that show for a while at one point but I got tired of absolutley nothing happening for the bulk of an episode with maybe like 2 minutes of actual new story with the rest being a bunch of "HUH???" "WHA???" "OHH!!!" and recaps of the last few episodes.
The exact reason why people should just read the manga, it's 10x better, no dragging, no hold ups. Most of the kids grew up on manga could not stand the animate one bit.

bah. i think watching the most worthless guy in the show tame one of the most hardcore villians was greatness.
and AP, I do know his real name. i just assumed since the guy would be watching the US version he would understand better if I gave him the US name.
As many have said the Freiza saga is the best and it starts to go down hill as it goes into the Buu saga, and goes far down hill in GT. But you've never seen a DBZ episode before you got season 1? You've been missing out man! That's memories right there.
Took all of your advice and picked season 2 up, and I finished it about 10 minutes ago. I am fucking pissed at the endings of these seasons. Season 1 ended after starting the Freiza saga, and season 2 didn't even finish it. *sighs* I'll be picking up season 3 tomorrow morning. I can't believe I didn't see this as a kid, I'm hooked now.
The only thing that pissed me off about this anime was that an entire episode can be on rocks tumbling down and circling the fighters because of their energy levels.
"Will they finally fight after a staredown for 3 episodes? We'll find out, on the next episode of...DragonBall Z........................"
I love DB, DBZ, reminds me of when I was a kid, I damn near bust in tears in Nostalgia watching old episodes.
The only thing I hated was the long overdrawn episodes. I remember during the early Majin Saga,Vegeta had his hand pointed to the stadium for at least 10 minutes, and Goku Had his blast ready to go for at least 2 episodes in the stadium.

That's the worst part of the show. They stall way too much.

True, it's like a soap opera sometimes... I remember the Frieza saga waiting for what seems like years for Goku to get there, and then they have an episode called "enter Goku" and i'm all excited and he gets out of the spaceship at the end of the episode.. Then he doesn't even meet up with Frieza for the longest time and the battle takes SOOO incredibly long. I love the show, but I don't miss the days of waiting for a weekly episode.

So true. DB is better than DBZ and so on because of this since its fight scenes are less stalled.
Think about it, current popular action animes like One Piece or Naruto, which I'm trying to avoid, are all DB-esque and all going well in North America. Akira Toriyama is a genius.......
Just made it through season 3 and I'm downloading season 4. I noticed the stalling in the first 2 seasons, and read what you were all saying and couldn't understand. But goddaaaaaamn. Vegeta claimed Goku would only need an hour in that tank to get back to 100%, but he didn't recover until 6 or 7 episodes later. The worst was when Namek was supposed to blow up in 5 minutes halfway through the season. I was probably watching it for at least 4 or 5 hours during that "5 minute stretch." And King Kai had the balls to say "most of the 5 minutes has been used up" 2 hours after it started.
