    I got 288.

Rule 1: First perform any calculations inside parentheses.
Rule 2: Next perform all multiplications and divisions, working from left to right.
Rule 3: Lastly, perform all additions and subtractions, working from left to right.

What do you guys get ?

The problem you entered into the calculator is different than the one you typed here.

    You entered (or google rephrased):

    (48/2) * (9+3)
    (24) * (12)
    = 288

This is what you should have entered:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=48%C3...75437037ee9051

    48 / [2 * (9+3)] = 2

Society had gotten to a point where they needed calculators to solve relatively easy math equations.....now society is too dumb to even get the correct answers WITH calculators.

I entered this to the calculator and I got 288. which is contrary to my own conclusion of 2
