Looking for the top pre-internet mainstream (1998 and before) rock/pop songs on YT.

After a brief and not very thorough search this is what I have come up with:

1. Guns n' Roses - November Rain
2. Linkin Park - Numb
3. Cranberries - Zombie
4. Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Sprit
5. Aha - Take on Me.

Madonna way behind
Michael Jackson pretty far behind
Cyndi Lauper gaining but pretty far behind

Please fill in gaps if you know of any pre-internet songs that are above *650m views

Like I have said Zombie was the biggest surprise here because it was NOT a hugely popular song outside of alternative rock circles, with Dreams and Linger from the Cranberries receiving much more popularity than Zombie when released.

*edit: m not "k"

The Cranberries - Zombie 699M views
PSY - Gangma Style 3.1B views

If you can't get 3 billion views these days, then it's time to hang up the drum sticks/put the guitar pick back in your pocket. You aren't good enough. Go big or gtfo the stage and go home.

Keep in mind that a lot of "hits" aren't exactly earned, but made by a marketing firm. Take away the engine to market something, all you're left with is is independent discovery methods and word of mouth.

Then factor in how many songs get over-exposure, how many people get their fix on a new good song to the point they no longer care to buy the CD to boost the charts. Remember, Billboard historically was based heavily on sales, not on requests, and the requests when factored in were limited because these radio stations weren't answering all calls and keeping these records. Those numbers were mostly made up WHEN they finally started to get factored in.
