I don't think it has been made official by the Raps but I have heard that it is a 5 year 40 Million deal numerous times.

I like that he's locked up for 5 years, the money isn't as important to me as is the fact that it's not a 3 year contract.

ESPN roster has it at 7.4 million for 2008. This correlates to Doug Smith reporting that an after-the-deal renegotiation with the Raps reduced his 08 salary after the Cap and Luxury tax number came in so low. As favour to the Raps.

It's probably a 4+1 year deal at something like 7.4, 8, 8, 8.5, (9) with player and or team options on the 5th.

DS had noted that the Raps were literally just pennies under the tax threshold after signing Solomon.

Sounds about right. Really a fair deal too for both sides too, especially considering the fact I'm sure there was at least a team or two that would've been willing to overpay to get him.

I'd say that 8 Mil per season is about right, certainly not a bargain IMO.
