Not to forget state legislatures and judgeships as well. In Houston, voters unseated 59 Republican judges up for reelection. Incidentally, their ballots are wild. Here is part of 1 page of someone's 6 page ballot. They captured the majority of judgeships in North Carolina, likely paving the way for a lawsuit alleging that 4 of the districts are unfairly gerrymandered. California was a bloodbath.

The caravan gambit didn't go well at all.

therefore if the apprehensions are declining...it becomes almost parallel to the undocumented immigrant totals declining too

You are absolutely correct. Though not widely reported, anyone who has been paying attention is aware that immigration from Central America has been on a decline, and that we've seen a few years of net migration back to Central America from the US. But facts and context suck when you're trying to build a scary narrative.

6 page ballot? Wtf... Must have taken a while to vote in Houston lol.

For the smaller election candidates, such as judges, you probably can't find any data on them comparing one another or their records, which means everyone essentially votes those by party.. Winning 59 judgeships in just 1 region in a heavy red state is really something even though the Houston city area tends to be blue but not the outskirts..

While democrat leaders like Gavin Newsom are advocating for more incentives to come here illegally, such as free healthcare for all illegals, some of us still have common sense.

The American people are a welcoming and generous people. But those who enter our country illegally, and those who employ them, disrespect the rule of law. And they show disregard for those who are following the law. And because we live in an age where terrorists are challenging our borders, we simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, and unchecked, and circumvent the people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully, to become immigrants in this country. Americans are right to demand better border security and better enforcement of the immigration laws.

Outside of picking oranges, what else can these migrants do? Can they automatically become doctors and lawyers? I know what you're going to say....let the market dictate it! Ahh! Ahh!

His response was to call you arrogant followed by a study that showed most are going into construction and agriculture. Oops.

The democrats once pushed back against illegal immigration with common sense, citing the costs on taxpayers and the negative impact on low-skilled US Citizens (young and/or poor). Now they just want more power.

California DMV "accidentally" registered undocumented immigrants to vote. San Francisco already started taxpayer funded programs to sign up undocumented immigrants to vote. As seen with above posters, they've come up with a bunch of gobbledygook when the reality is they just want more power/votes.

he's arrogant as he indicated all they do is pick oranges...

graphing shows that agriculture isnt even leading, it is construction which there was no initial mention of...and which is where most undocumented immigrants hold a job. you can come to his defense all you like, doesnt make his initial notion less arrogant...or you for defending it, either, and trying to imply construction as part of the defense

as for switching on positions...wow, you mean a politician played both sides of the field!! lets be happy that these dems got it right, as many studies continue to show both legal/illegal immigrants (moreso their children) are a 'yuuuggee' positive impact to the driving force in ensuring the US remains highly skilled and of quality for the future. and no - i'm not advocating for open borders, let that be clear.

also, theres no evidence of widespread voter fraud...still waiting from Trumps lauch of investigating back in early 2017 when he won, mind you, all because he was butthurt over not winning the popular vote

If you are using the state to artificially block who can enter the labor pool the market is not free.

Don't want to hear anyone who supports open borders complaining about low wages for jobs not requiring a skill or education. It's simple supply and demand. This migration hurts African Americans the most. Keep voting Democrat!

Mexicans are throwing stones at them in Tijuana and telling them to go back to their countries.

the notion that an influx of immigrants are keeping wages low has been debunked already. you also can't look at the US economy in simple supply and demand structure due to it having so many variables

"David Card in 2007 concluded that “more than two decades of research on the local labor market impacts of immigration have reached a near consensus that increased immigration has a small but discernible negative effect on the relative (emphasis in original) wages of low-skilled native workers” but also a small, positive overall effect."

David Card study

"Two 2009 studies by Giovanni Peri and Chad Sparber found that “total immigration to the United States from 1990 to 2007 was associated with a 6.6% to 9.9% increase in real income per worker.” In the face of the reality that average wage levels are not negatively affected, one counterpoint is that the impact differs among skill levels (i.e., that low-skill migrants depress wages for native low-skill workers), but that is not how the world works. National and even state economies are much more dynamic than simple theory; it thus seems that immigration tends to complement native skill levels."

Peri 2010 - Effects of immigrants on US employment and productivity

open borders is not an option, but there certainly needs to have some advancement to immigration reform - civic engagement, no wasted funding for a wall, update visa system, path to citizenship especially for those already in the US, etc

I think you are the only idiot on this forum advocating for free market capitalism.

And they say pot is only mildly detrimental to the brain.

we need to freeze the accounts of organizations inciting these people to leave their homes and break into foreign countries. These same groups brought Africa and the middle east to Europe and filled it with rapists and murderers.
