Whoa Whoa their cowboy

Compared to our lovely US red states, Cleveland could still be a Caribbean'like vacation for Louisiana/Arkansas/Kentucky folk TBQH

We get a lot of that coal mining opiate epidemic migrating here, ya know, the developed parts of Ohio.

Those states arent poor because of political alignment, theyre poor because of culture, geographic location, and lack of business presence.

Countless poor people live in very blue cities of very blue states. If Dems were fixing poverty... their cities wouldnt have so much poverty

There seems to be a similar connection in your map and the below one as well

States that require mandatory religious values to be a politician

and trump van der linde and his posse of upper east side democratic grifters rode into their one horse towns and convinced them he was bringing back coal mining & having mexico buy them a wall so the immigants wouldna took der jerbs no more.

Trump Promised to Bring Back Coal. It’s Declining Again

West Virginia poverty gets worse under Trump economy, not better

end of '18 comin up, still no wall.

just tragic.

So just so were clear, having practices like:

- Religion being high priority in day to day operations
- Using 200BC methods as defense mechanisms
- Hand out AK-47 licenses to 2nd graders in school

What's next, build a river moat around the White House to defend protesters?

Secret Service carrying samari swords?

Sounds an awful lot like Middle East tendencies if you ask me

Well, the president is the closest thing we have to King Joffrey, so kind of makes sense.

Thats some pretty silly stuff. Never heard of that.

The info in the wiki you linked seems to contradictory tho:

Quote:
State-level requirements for public office were not entirely abolished until 1961, when the Supreme Court of the United States struck down religious qualifications for all public officeholders in its decision in Torcaso v. Watkins, a case concerning an atheist's right to serve as a notary public under a Maryland law requiring public officials to declare they believed in God. However, eight states still have language in their constitutions that requires such qualifications.

I assume this means it’s disallowed and not enforced, politicians are just afraid to change the language due to the backlash.

To me, outdated and unenforced languge in a state constitution is less important than something like Texas being 44th in rate of income inequality, while California is number 2.

Everyone has their own priorities though.

Never understood this. What is poor or inadequte about it? Are the facts in the books wrong? What else do you need?

Also, are you telling me a kid who doesnt learn calculus cant become a mechanic, an HVAC tech, a construction worker, a car salesman, a postal worker, a restaurant manager, and so on? Those may not be ritzy jobs but they certainly earn above the poverty level.

Can you actually explain to me specifically how schools and ‘lack of general infrastructure’ are MAKING or KEEPING people poor?
