Jimmy Butler or Iman Shumpert

Anyone who watched last game against Boston saw that Shumpert can create offense sufficiently for himself when needed. Butler just does it more often through necessity. Bulls had a very limited number of offensive talents this year in comparison to the Knicks and out of necessity Butler was called upon for a larger role in the offense.

honestly, both offenses for shump and butler are pretty crap. they can hit an open shot or two sometimes but asking them to create on offense against a quality defense in the half-court set is gonna be asking for bit much.

the similarities for both are quite shocking a long list. their averages are pretty much the same if you can account for PER36 which they both have no problem playing or even at 48mins that Butler has been putting up in the last new game.

So its really a toss up on who's defense is better.

The thing that it's funny about this threads, it they have no goal but being an anti-knicks circle jerk.

shumpert is turning out to have a pretty nice offensive game. I thought he'd take after his idiot buddy J.R. Smith but Iman actually plays within himself and unselfishly.

Yes, he does. If his knee holds up, he'll be providing elite-level perimeter defense for years to come. His offensive game is looking better and better.

Next year, look for him to be one of the new emerging stars that become familiar to even non-fans.

Shumpert will be a great role player, not a star. Damian Lillard will be a star. There's a difference. You see the IT factor in Lillard that is missing in both Butler and Shump.

Butler's defense is based on Tom Thibadeau. Shumpert was a beast defensively under Mike 'Antoni. That's an achievement by itself.

Shump is a man on defense.

He played good defense against a terrible player who tries to do to much.
