Default OKC-Celtics-Jazz Trade Scenario

Thunder Send K.Martin and Toronto's First Round pick
They get Al Jefferson, L.Barbosa and F.Melo

Line up:
C: Jefferson / Thatbeet / Melo
PF: Ibaka / Collison
SF: Durant / Jones
SG: Sefolosha / Barbosa / Lamb
PG: Westbrook / Maynor / Jackson

Rationale: They need a low post threat and Big Al can be their guy. Barbosa can fill Harden's shoes until Lamb develops.

Jazz Send Al Jefferson
They get Kevin Martin, Toronto's First round pick and Boston's future first round pick

Line up:
C: D.Favors / Enes Kanter
PF: Paul Millsap / M.Williams
SF: G.Hayward / D.Carroll
SG: K.Martin / A.Burks
PG: Mo.Williams / R.Foye / E.Watons / J.Tinsley

Rationale: Utah has too many Bigs and they need to get rid of one. Big Al is the obvious choice. If he goes more playing time can be allotted to Favors and Kanter who have so much potential. K-Mart is also a good addition an can be a deadly shooter for them.

Celtics Send L.Barbosa, Fab Melo and a future first round pick.
They get K.Perkins

Line Up:
C: K.Perkins / D.Milicic / C.Wilcox / J.Colins
PF: K.Garnett / B.Bass / J.Sullinger
SF: P.Pierce / J.Green
SG: A.Bradley / C.Lee
PG: R.Rondo / J.Terry

Rationale: Celtics get back Perkins, their interior defense who plays really well in Bostons system.

Thoughts?

as a celtic fan, i don't even want perkins back. his contract is no good and besides we already have KG/darko as centre and our PF position is stacked this year.

Kevin Martin isnt what the Jazz are looking for, swap him with Lamb and mayor.

I was sad to see him go honestly. I believe if we get Perkins KG will be playing at least half of his minutes at Center anyway. I dont think Darko, Wilcox and Collins would get any playing time tbh. Bass an Green will still get ample PT at PF even if this trade falls through.

Well K-MArt is an expirer but that Toronto Pick could make this trade worth while for the Jazz. It is most likely a lottery Pick as it is an unprotected pick.

OKC isn't trading Maynor..

Also Celtics don't do this.

I dont want Perkins at that kind of money. And Darko is probably better, anyway.

The Celtics didn't want to overpay Perkins in 2011, why do they want to now after he's had two sub-par seasons? Also don't think this is possible with the Celtics' hard cap since they used their full MLE this season.

You are trading an expiring contract for an expiring contract + picks

I like Perk but the Cs spent a first on Melo and then would be tossing in another first. And center isn't a true weakness.

I don't want Perkins back at that contract he's got now. I especially don't want him back at the expense of a first round pick.

No way the Celtics would trade Fab Melo, Barbosa, and a 1st rounder so they can get a receding player with a TERRIBLE contract.

And Perkins is receding greatly, no question about that:
Total Rebound % Past 3 Years: 19.1%, 18.4%, 13.9%
Effective FG%: .542, .493, .489
Player Efficiency Rating (League AVG is 15): 10.2, 9.1, 8.7
PER36: 10pt/11reb, 7pt/11reb, 7pt9reb

So basically he is in full decline.
