true. however, that wasn't necessarily the reason why last season was such a disaster for the Lakers. Nash was either out with injury or playing while injured half the season and D'antoni threw the offense off balance by making Pau a 3pt shooter

of course, Nash is just around 40, let the oldest starting point in the league be the key and watch him run wild

They shut Kobe down, tank for next season's strong draft.

Pau needs to be a 20 and 10 guy at least..otherwise not sure we make playoffs.

Would you want to make the playoffs knowing you won't get too far and miss out on a good draft pick?

I never understand why a team that isn't good enough to compete with the top teams would want to battle out for the 8th seed only to get knocked out.

Pau Gasol will go back to his normal self. Howard making way will place more focus on him and back to what he was.

As hard as it is wanting to lose it makes more sense to.next summer we have alot of cap space and with a top pick it would take alot less time to rebuild. So you can't help but look at the appeal of losing as hard as it is to think that way.

Nash and Pau are the keys. There's wildcards like Nick Young but the chemistry between Pau and Nash is going to be the key while Kobe is out. Both are older and it's not like it would be if they were in their prime but I'm very interested to see how they do with more comfortable positions for at least a short time. Nash being fully healthy even if 40 will be interesting also.

Precisely.

It's not in Kobe's makeup to tank either. He will try and get back ASAP and lead the team.

Capspace and a top draft pick would be just the kind of rebuild it will take to get the Lakers back on track.

Could you imagine the jealousy around here if Lakers got Wiggins in the draft

It might be for the best for the team itself but these guys aren't getting any younger and most of the contracts will be up by the end of the season. Why would any of them want to go in wanting to lose? Nash more than likely is in his last season and he wants a ring, is he really gonna wanna lose and go out like that? Gasol may be in his last season as a Laker and close to considering retirement, I'm sure he wants one more window to win a ring too. Like mentioned, Kobe is gonna come back and want to create an inspirational story of making it to the Playoffs and winning that 6th ring after a major injury.

I'm not saying this is right but I think I'd be disappointed if they actually did tank. I'd feel bad for Nash who never got to win that ring and feel like he wasted the last year of his career unless he were to get traded.
