Re: mos def calls out jigga, challenges jay-z, weezy to a rap battle
Most Def is a bum, even worse than Jim Jones. Hov doesn't have time to swat every fly. I mean, who the fck is Mos Def in 2009?

A wise man told me don't argue with fools
Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who
So stop with that childish ****, ***** I'm grown
Please leave it alone - don't throw rocks at the throne
Do not bark up that tree, that tree will fall on you
I don't know why your advisors ain't forewarn you
Please, not Jay, he's, not for play
I don't slack a minute, all that thug rappin and gimmicks
I will end it, all that yappin be finished
You are not deep, you made your bed now sleep
Don't make me expose you to them folks that don't know you
***** I know you well, all the stolen jew-els
Twinkletoes you breakin my heart
You can't **** with me - go play somewhere, I'm busy And all you other cats throwin shots at Jigga
You only get half a bar - fck y'all niccas

Looking at so many of you post in here is just comical to me. Like little kids talking about superheros VS villains when they battle each other.
JayZ is too commercial! Dhunt-dunna-da! here comes the all mighty underground hero Mos Def to the rescue flying through the sky with his cape on - oh wait! It's that blasted villainy Weezy attempting to stop Mighty Mos from getting to Jigga Man. *BAM* *PHUSH* *KNIK* take that you Miss Officer phucking goon! One down, one to go. Show yourself Sean. Come out like a man and battle me. BWAHAHHA! Mos Def, you fool! I have no time for likes of you; get on my level bit*h, then we'll talk! BWAHAHHA!!!!! S. Carter, you must try harder Mos!!!

I was refering to their ability to freestyle. I guess I should have been more clear. Artist obviously have a prime period when they produce their best music, which is caused by a host of issues like change in production, style, etc., but time and age doesn't affect their ability to freestyle. I'm not buying it that Jay would lose in a battle now but would have won 5-10 years ago.

'the black album' is great (although there's no way it touches 'reasonable doubt'), but his work since then has been doo-doo. mos would beat him comprehensively in a battle IMO
Noooo. They haven't been doo-doo. They aren't on the elite levels like his other albums but they aren't bad at all. If another rapper released his album he would get an 8/10, but since it's Jay it's considered trash.
gets better by the minute. I dunno much about Mos though, I don't really know his style. I just remember watching a video of him freestyling in front of people in the public and he looked pretty good.

Check out the Blackstar album and Black on Both Sides. And give it a fair chance. Don't just dismiss it as "backpacker rap" lol
