It depends. If it's 30 days or so because I refused to give them up than possibly depending on the friend. But if it was something even as long as a year than no. The crime they committed would also impact the decision.

No one with even one child should say "yes."

Generally, no. But this would depend a lot on situations now wouldn't it?

What if this friend had saved your life before? Or has helped your family a lot in the past? Certainly I will take the fall for him, if the time served is reasonably short.

I know what though....I would have did that time for Mike Vick in a heartbeat.

I would have had a Bentley, Black Card, and an escrow bursting at the seams when I got out too, lol.

Nope because he's not a real friend if expects me to go down for something he did that I wasn't even involved with

Nope, i have a wife and (soon to be) 2 kids. They need me more out of jail than said friend needs to be out of jail. Not a chance.

It would depend on the crime and compensation and time served. I wouldn't do anythin% over 18 months and would require compensation about 15 - 20 times my annual salary tax free. Friendship has nothing to do with it imo I wouldn't do jailtime for anyone unless comp was right.

I would not. To echo what others have said, any friend that'd be okay with me taking their place in jail is therefore really not a friend.

If you're doing 18 months, you're in prison not jail most of the time, which is an entirely different animal.

And no, I'd never take the rap for something I didn't do. Depending on the seriousness of whatever offense it is that has taken place and I have knowledge of, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to tell though (rape, murder, kidnapping, grand larceny-yes I tell: weed smoke, speeding, petty theft- I mind my own business)

Involuntarily, shit happens and sometimes people get arrested and even put to death for crimes they didn't do though, especially in Texas. I have no idea how I would survive in that situation.
