I think you are correct about the 3 pt record. He is 14th all-time in 3 pt FGs made (1719) and Miller did pass him eventually. He was one of the first guys to truly shoot the 3 pt shot a lot. Starting from 1987 up until his retirement in 2000, he attempted 4.0 3 pt a game on .405%. Truly one of the better 3 point shooters ever.

Dale Ellis is extremely underrated.

At the time Ray passed Dale, Dale was 3rd All-time in 3-pt field goals until he was surpassed by the other 3-pt shooters. Crazy to see him now at 14th.
