Bonzi Wells
now that it appears he will be looking for a one year contract do you think the suns will or should use their MLE on him?

He's a good player, and he has size, and can play the 2 or 3 effectively, but where would he see time, and would the Suns be willing to take on his antics?
Between:
Bell, Barbosa, Diaw, Marion
there isn't much time left for Bonzi at either position.

i just figured with the suns style of play he'd be a good fit. and the more weapons we have the better off we'd be.
if you leave barbosa at the point, and Diaw and marion at the 3 4 and 5 spots he'd only have to contend with bell for playing time at the 2.
and as for his antics, i figure if ron artest campainged to get the kings to keep him he should be okay!

Suns can't offer their full MLE as only about 1/2 million is left. The other half was signed on Banks.

I don't think Bonzi would take the MLE anyways. He wants his $$$.

I think Denver should take him on for a year. They have some big backcourt players in Miller, Anthony, and Bonzi. That'd be tough to deal with.
I forgot that the Suns spent a lot of their MLE on Banks, so we wouldn't even be able to offer more than a sack of peanuts.

This is true until you factor in Marcus Banks. For the money we are paying him, he needs to be playing.

I think he should sign. His one major flaw is his shooting, but with Phoenix, I can guarantee you that wouldn't be a problem. Wing players in Phoenix's offense have no problem shooting cause with the up tempo style offense they almost always get the ball with no defenders to contend with. Bonzi would do well here.

Bonzi would be great for quick scoring punch, but he's going to want major minutes to earn a big contract, so, not a great fit unless he just wants to fit into the team in a quest for a title and forgets about big free agent money
