Default If Kawhi Leonard came back at this very moment....

Given he has the same production when he left due to injury, led the Spurs to the finals then lost to the Cavs, how accountable would he be?

he's still the on floor leader. He's still the same caliber defender. He's still their number 1 option.

Might have something to do with your laughable scenario where the Spurs lose to the Cavs. The Cavs wouldn't beat the Spurs if Kawhi didn't play at all.

But that's not the point. If the scenario happens is Kawhi accountable or not?

There's not much worth discussing here. If he lost a finals series playing at his normal level what does it mean to hold him accountable? "Kawhi Leonard played great defense and averaged 25 points. What a loser." If it makes you feel any better trolls would trash him the way trolls always trash whoever loses a game, playoff series, or finals.

Considering nobody believes the Spurs have a chance at winning anyway, I would say people would believe he overachieved.

Well you're not really offering much context aside from the fact that they would have lost.

Did he play up to his normal standard?
Did he excel beyond his normal standard of play?
What were his numbers?
Did he play better than his numbers indicated?

When you're the best player on your team, you're always going to be held accountable for a lost series, let alone the finals.

But you have to look at the bigger picture as well.
