Houston does need a big guy, thats true. K-mart is too expensive and we dont have the salary cap room to acquire him. We need to trade away Juwan Howards Massive contract, but its so big that no team wants it. (Hopefully the knicks will take him and give us channing fry in return). We will most likely sign John Lucus. I hate David Wesley and I hope we don't waste our money on resigning him. T-mac will play mostly SF, and Battier mostly PF except when T-mac is out. So our lineup right now looks more like this:
PG: Alston / Sura / hopefully Lucas / Maybe even M. Banks / Head
SG: Head / Bogans / Maybe F. Jones / sometimes T-mac
SF: T-mac / Battier / Bogans
PF: Battier / Howard / Novac
C: Yao / Motumbo
We could really use help at the PG position. We need size and 3 point shooting at the SG position and we need a younger backup at the C postion. We don't need K-mart because he would just be another Stromile Swift style player. Howard is better for our system because he has a consistent 18-20 ft jump shot. I would't mind trading him for a cheaper or shorter contract however. Right now, we need to work on our other needs. Primarily the SG position where we need more size and better shooting. If Novac really develops and learns to play defense it would be exciting to see this line up:
PG: Alston
SG: T-mac
SF: Battier
PF: Novac
C: Yao
SO MUCH SCORING....
