Elway should be up there and Marino should be taken off the list. Marino was not very mobile at all.

Good stuff posterize, love top ten. But this list is all wrong. Vick should most definitely be number one.

Kordell Stewart wasn't good enough as a QB I suppose?

Big Ben just for his ability to break any and every tackle.

why do so many people have a problem with marino?

the thread is "mobile" not "running" qb. dan marino NEVER got sacked because he had the tiniest moves to avoid the rush. he lead the NFL in sack % (lowest % of drop backs ending up in a sack) TEN times and its not like he never dropped back to pass- dude passed all the time. in fact he is 2nd all-time in sack %, only getting sacked in 3.13% of his drop backs. steve walsh is #1, but he was a career back-up with only 38 career starts and has never thrown more than 343 passes in a season (by comparison marino threw more than 500 passes 11 different times), so its not really comparable. in 1988, marino threw 606 passes and only got sacked 6 times! that's a 0.98% sack % (6/(606+6) = 0.98%)

everything else being equal (which its not) i would MUCH rather have the mobility of a guy like marino then a guy like ben roethlisberger. roethlisberger is a good runner and can gain more yards on the ground then marino any day of the week, but he also gets sacked ALL THE TIME cause his mobility in the pocket isn't that good. by comparison, big ben has been sacked 198 times with 1,983 pass attempts in his career. dan marino was sacked 270 times with 8,358 pass attempts. so roethlisberger is more mobile because he can break off a 15-yard run now and again? please.

Marinos quick release had as much to do with his sack % as his quick feet....

he could slide around in the pocket a little, but he wasnt mobile... tom Brady moves around in the pocket better than Marino did.... Brees does too

marino had that quick release... the other guy off the top who have kind of release are Kurt warner and mark Rypien used to have a quick release to the degree where it is hard to sack him...

he definitely has a quick release too- maybe the quickest ever, but if you watch him, he could also avoid the qb rush. it would be a side step here and there, not some crazy runs. but the combination of the two helped him never get sacked.

If you're not amazed at that Cunningham play at 2:15 you're not human.

Marino was not mobile. Maybe you're lookiing for pocket presence, but thats not mobility. You ever watch Marino try and run?

Well if we're talking about breaking tackles then Dante Culpepper has to be up there

Pretty soon Tim Tebow will be on that list.

But this is a pretty fair list. Young and Tarkenton were just uncatchable at certain points after they broke loose.
