Default night work is a different beast

been working nights for the past 4 nights. left home at 6pm, just getting home, its 5:55am. thankfully this project comes to an emd today.

point is, if youre not used to it, its a mega b1tch. especially if youre an employer. no one wants to work nights, day pay is already good enough for them. production rates also go down like a mfer. equipment breakdown at midnight? good luck finding an open rental store. forget to bring a tool when your 50miles from home? good luck finding an open hardware store at midnight.

anyways, goodnight, im about to catch some Zs.

Yeah, I used to regularly work 10pm to 10am (at a minimum) and it was absolutely brutal... said goodbye to that after less than a year. The money was fantastic but you can't put a price on quality of life.

It's been half an half hour, you said you were going to bed. Why haven't you gone to bed yet since you did the late night tiring shift? I suspect you're lying.

What's this, the 10th job you've had this year? If I didn't know any better I'd say you work for a temp agency

I think I'd try a shift like this but my wife wouldn't allow it. I think it'll be more calm but boring af

I did the late shift in my early 20s. It wore me down and you get burned out sleeping all the time during the day in my personal experience. I perfer the shift I have now which is 4AM to 12:30PM. I go to bed at night still, get done so early with work I can do any errands I need to do and everyone else is still at work. Get to pick up my daughter from school, make dinner if I need to, etc.
