Atlanta would be stupid to trade for Gasol and his fat salary next year. And can the Lakers even afford the amount josh smith would command in the open market next year?

Awesome trade for the Lakers, Pau has clearly declined and they need to get rid of him while his stock is high. Josh and Korver would be perfect for Mike's system.

Josh is a better defender, shot blocker, just as good a rebounder and passer, better scorer when he doesn't jack up shots from 15 feet and beyond. He is also one of the best athletes and will be perfect for Howard. Wonder if Lakers can snatch teague as well.

Time for Gasoft to find his happy place, can't wait for his depressed ass to vanish a 3rd time in the playoffs.

I rate Gasol as highly as just about anyone, but I think if you're getting Josh Smith (probably making you the best defensive front court in a long time) AND a shooter (Morrow or Korver)

I think you can't pass that up.

Gasol is playing too far away from the rim and he's not a spot up shooter.

Lakers just become even more predictable offensively through that trade. Yes they become defensive juggernauts, but also become an even worse shooting team.

Trade Pau and Duhon's expiring contract for Bargnani and Calderon, who is leaving Toronto in free agency by all accounts.
