5-3 or 4-4 at the worst.

It's truly unbelievable how important he is to their success. After watching them without him, he really isn't working with a lot. Most of their skill players are on the wrong side of 30 or just not that explosive.

I think they still lose to HOU and NO but not by those scores obviously.

They beat CLE, TB, KC, CIN, and TEN.

I think some of their skill players are still good. Clark, Wayne, Garcon. But a guy like Tamme, Collie, Eldridge, Addai to an extent, they are the ones Manning makes look better.

What sucks is that this is the first time that the Colts have had a decent rushing attack and a decent run defense. They already got the edge rushers in Freeney and Mathis but they still need playmakers and guys with size at the LB and DB positions.

I actually believe they would be a sub .500 team even with Peyton, and had predicted that before news of him not playing...

they were on thier way down IMO...

people forget how retardedly stacked that team WAS....much more than just Peyton

-Freeney
-Mathius
-Bethea
-Clark
-Wayne
-Saturday
-Sanders

^^^ all of those are probowl calibre players and many of them could be on the downside now...this team's issues are deeper than Peyton IMO

I don't think they would be winnless with Peyton obviously....but I don't think they would be as good as most expected at all...

5-3, they would've destroyed the steelers at home with manning.

Well, considering we've won an average of like 12 games a year the last nine years with Peyton under the helm.... it's safe to say we'd be at least 4-4, and chances are 5-3 or better.

Freeney & Mathis are as good as they have ever been from a physical stand-point. They haven't lost anything in that regard. Bethea is 27 years old, in the prime of his career. Sanders was always injured so him being a pro-bowl caliber player when healthy means little when he's not playing for us. We were winning 12+ games a year without him even playing. Clark is still in the prime of his career, though will be exiting it probably in two years.

Saturday is still playing really good football at center for us. As well as he has had over the past couple years. Wayne might be slowing down, though. It's hard to tell because Peyton isn't throwing him the ball, plus I believe he's going to be 34 next year, which is getting up there in age.

I mention all this because if you take away anything from this year, it's that the Colts were not THAT talented. There is, fundamentally, one change this year....and we went from a team averaging 12 wins a year, to winless through 8.

If we're so "stacked" (and most of those names you listed are still playing for us, and either still playing really well or in the prime of their careers) then we wouldn't be the worst team in the league right now.

We've had a few key injuries this year, but we've had numerous injuries throughout the past nine years and that didn't stop us from winning.

So what do the 2008 Patriots and 2011 Colts seasons say about Brady, Peyton and Belichick? '08 Pats went 11-5 but missed the postseason by a hair or conference record or head-to-head. I don't remember exactly. I think the Fins won the division that season.

So which one seems more accurate?
A) Peyton is way better than Brady because the Colts can't win without him
B) Belichick is a f-cking genius that he can lead a QB(Cassel) who hadn't played contact football since HS to an 11-5 record

Carbine if all those guys are still in their prime (minus Sanders) then you would think that would be enough for a team to get a win or two with a sub par QB.

this year could also just show that Painter is just BAD as much as Peyton is good...

First of all alot of those players are twigs awlays getting hurt... Second of all the Colts had alot of good players but they also had alot of bad/inexperienced players. Throughout the years they always had to rely on practice squad players/undrafted players to fill in the ranks for them and play alot of snaps for them. It seems like their defense is always filled with these practice squad players and it's always so soft.

Alot of those players on that list were late rounders/undrafted actually

They would be 6-2 right now

Houston and New Orleans were already going to be Ls

They would've beaten CLE, PIT, CIN,TEN, TB, and KC with Peyton.

However the season would've ended the same way it always does except for two seasons an early playoff loss.
