Default Yi Jianlian Last Night

Yi went for 22/8 last night after being out about a month and a half out with an injury. I really didn't expect this kind of return, he looks like a new man like the announcers have stated, but do you expect this from him now on? He is really looking sharp on the offensive end, and he isn't neglecting those rebounds.

He played great, but I expect him to be up and down for the season. Hopefully he keeps that aggression up. He was looking for his shot all night.

Didnt watch the game but his numbers are good. Before his injury, he was definitely more aggressive. hopefully it stays that way. Did jefferson give brook a hard time? Brook looked more like a passer than his frequent 20/10 games

Kiki's offense hasn't been effective in getting him the ball where he needs to be. Also, his pick and roll defense is just horrible. We leave that middle lane open every single night and every team that has a pick and roll player has taken advantage of it. Brook's blocks been down cause Kiki's asking him to step out more and be more of a nonfactor in general. He's really been giving guys like Courtney and Devin way too much leeway to do whatever they want out there.

Hes attacking the rim a lot more now and his usual 1-2 dumb mistakes a game didnt happen. I'm really happy to see him play this well, hopefully he can have more games like this on a consistent basis.

thank god... we need all the good news we can get, this season. who knows, maybe yi will be one of the few players who will actually benefit under vandeweigh.

even so, yi came in to camp looking like a better player, and i don't mean just physically. it's a shame we haven't been able to get a full, sustained look at how much better he is than last year.

damn injuries... without them, frank might still be coaching and the team would logically be getting better right now instead of regressing under vandeweigh.

Yi's offense is looking so great as of late. His confidence is sky high and his jumper is silky smooth. He is also attacking the rim non-stop which is great.

Nets fans what happened to Yi? He had a couple good stretches this season but that died off and he's back to sucking. What's he doing differently?

Basically every time he had consistent scoring nights, Yi got hurt. Its really unfortunate cause he was never really 100% healthy this season. I feel if Yi was healthy this whole season, our record would not be as bad as it is now.

His jumper isn't automatic. He's verrrry streaky. His entire confidence structure is based on whether or not he makes his first few shots. If he misses, then he's just a black hole. If he gets some he can be very good and be aggressive. He really needs to shake that mentality that if you miss some, try to get some easy buckets for yourself at the rim or at the very least try to do other things the team needs like rebounding or shot blocking.

And thats exactly why he should be the backup PF. When hes hot he's hot, when he's not he's not. Could be great coming off the bench behind a more consistent PF (like A'mare)

I'm still holding out for him. He has shown promise and the season was doomed to be a shitty one from the start. It's a learning experience he definitely has come a long way from last season.
