After watching today's game (over atdhe.net), I finally realized how garbage the EFF rating of NBA official website really is.
Raymond Felton has a EFF rating of ~20.
Jax's EFF is only ~16.5, but I'm pretty sure Jax is more valuable than Felton in nearly every category. Stats can lie sometime, well actually many times. Well, someone said "Lies, damned lies, and statistics."
Players on a team such as Phoenix tend to have their stats scaled up because of high pace factor, and tend to be overestimated quite a bit. Conversely our players likely be underestimated. What do people look at the most? PPG, RPG, and APG, or occasionally BPG. Somehow offense numbers completely shadow defense numbers. Well there's just not much defensive measurements other than scanning the defending player's reflexes with keen eyes.
If Tyrus can score 22 points tonight, he'd be scoring 30+ in uptempo teams.
Now I feel like it's a right decision to pay $8 mil a year for Tyrus over re-signing Felton. I guess LB knows Felton's limit already, and is not willing to coach someone who won't improve much.
Gee what am I trying to say? I guess I was trying to prove this team can definitely beat good teams out there.
Oh, and by the way, how did Jax create the first ever triple-double of this team? Playing against a team that ignores defense.
