Re: "The best basketball players come from USA... BY FAR" - Jerry West
Well duh and no at the same time. America is obviously by far the single best country, but a Ryder Cup like USA vs. Europe (Rest of the world) weekend would be great, but it couldn´t be an all-star type game, it would have to be dead serious and then it would be very competitive.

With Durant, Bron, CP3, and Melo I don't think it would be too competitive. Especially if we had a good mix of bigs.
I stuck with a Euro squad. I think the Euro squad lacks a bit of balance. I actually think they´d be superior to the American squad at PF/C, but not enough offensive talent at the guard spots. Guys like Deng, Thabo, Batum and Rubio could probably hold their own defensively, but they´d be in deep shit to create offense, when put under pressure.

USA wins 75% of the time but these games would be ridiculously fun to watch. Spain always puts up a good fight, taking the gasol brothers and adding dirk, parker, noah, ibaka, etc would make this very competitive
