Default 9 Teams / 8 Playoff Spots in the West

So it looks like there are 9 teams fighting for the 8 spots:

SA
Dallas
Pheonix
Denver
Utah
New Orleans
Lakers
Golden State
Houston

Does anyone else have a shot?

Which one of these teams will not make it?

lol at all the people here before the season started that were saying houston was going to be the no. 1 seed and be a top team in the league this season.

i know its early, but all they have shown is that their soft and inconsistent.

those early season predictions were based on how the core remained intact and the bench was infused with quality depth.

and that they would hold onto JVG's defensive tenacity and identity while incorporation Adelman's offensive schemes. plus, Yao is not getting as many touches in the paint

obviously, these analysts overestimate these athletes

I don't know.. the Lakers had a 2nd half collapse last year, GS is incosistent, and any one of those teams could land an injury or two (esp. the injury prone ones like NO and Denver) to lose out on the playoffs. Houston has depth going for them at least. Also Adelman has generally been a good regular season coach, they will probably find a grove at some point long enough for them to make the playoffs. If I had to pick I would say GS.

NO is not going to make it, IMO. Main reason: injuries.

Portland is as good as any of those lower seed teams IMO...
