Raptors, Celtics, Kings trade Will Solomon, Patrick O
The Sacramento Kings today acquired Will Solomon from the Toronto Raptors and cash considerations from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade that sent Boston’s Patrick O’Bryant to Toronto and a protected Kings’ second round pick in 2014 to Boston, according to Kings’ President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. In a related move, Sacramento waived Mikki Moore. “Considering the recent roster moves made over the last 24 hours, this trade allows us to bring in an experienced guard in Will, when you consider his time in the NBA, coupled with his extensive experience playing professionally overseas,” said Petrie. “We also want to thank Mikki for his contribution and wish him the best.”

Re: Celtics trade O'Bryant to Raptors for Solomon
this bench warmers swapping is fine with the Raps. Solomon would never get any playing time since Roko has played so well and the addition of Marcus Banks. They also need a spare big while Hump is not ready to come back.

2nd worst trade of the deadline. After Mihm for a 2013 2nd round pick

Re: Celtics trade O'Bryant to Raptors for Solomon
This is a fantastic low key move. I realize it seems chincy to people who haven't "enjoyed" Will Soloman's play...but the Raps are badly hurting for live bodies at the four and five right now. O'bryant is 7' and can move under his own power, and has a few basketball skills...this is a coup for Toronto.
And O'bryant does have some interesting physical abilites...maybe he matures into a respectable backup big.

lol O'Bryant won't play. This is pointless. With 4 PGs it was necessary though.

Re: Celtics trade O'Bryant to Raptors for Solomon
Is this all the C's are doing? I'm kind of hoping they go for Marbury after the deadline.

Jawai was playing first quarter minutes last night....I'm sure Pat will find his way into the game now and then.

Solid guard from Connecticut..played colllege at Clemson and had a lot of successful years overseas. I think he will get some minutes from the Celtics and i hope so.
I am a little biased however, because when I was younger, I actually looked up to Will Solomon a lot since he was from my area.

Re: Celtics trade Patrick O'Bryant to Raptors for Will Solomon
Solomon is being sent to Sacramento for a conditional second round draft pick (similar to the Sam Cassell trade).
That gives the Celts two open roster spots, and they hope to fill at least one with a veteran big man over the next couple of weeks.
With their available bodies at 11, J.R. Giddens is being called up from the D-League and will be with the Celts when they play the Jazz tonight.
