Default NBA height listing inconsistency thread

bad height listing just drives me crazy. it just makes my favorite organization look like a WWE. I just hate that. why can't they be more professional about it? the listing is all over the place. some with barefoot height, some with height w/shoe on, some neither. NBA should take this seriously because people really do believe Kevin love is 6ft 10.

    i'll start with the usual

1.Tyreke Evans was measured at 6ft 4 barefoot, but listed at 6ft 6

    2. Kevin Love was measured at 6ft 7 3/4 barefoot, but listed at 6ft 10

    3. kevin durant is listed at 6ft 9 barefoot, and nba listing is also 6ft 9

    who else?

    * I know some of these players could have grown 1/4-1/2 inch maybe even up to full 1 inch, but these NBA listing came out right after they were measured barefoot.

I read somewhere the Hedo Turkoglu was the tallest player on the Magic, even taller than Dwight. Can anyone confirm this?

Why is it so difficult to understand that they round up and typically list players height with shoes on?

Kevin Love was 6"9.5 in shoes, you want them to round down or list his height without shoes? Maybe Evans is now 6"5 and 3/4th in shoes, should they round down?

    D-Wade.

Measure at 6'3.75" barefoot and 6'4.75" with shoes. He's listed at 6'4... they always round up for .5 and not to mention most guys get shoes that give them more than an inch.

And for Durant, I'd assume he didn't want to be listed as 6'11" so he wouldn't have to play PF... but considering he played SG his rookie year (IIRC), it's irrelevant.

i believe evans was listed at 6ft 6 in his first year. so your theory is not true. you can't round up 6ft 5 1/4 to 6ft 6.

and durant with shoe on was 6ft 10 1/4, why he isn't listed at 6ft 10?

and what happens when a player shows up with 2 inch thick shoe?

have you see shaq shoes? why isn't shaq listed at 7ft 3?

i remember seeing shaq's reebok shaq attack 1 in the store. actual size 23. that thing was easily 2 inch thick. maybe more.

Said for years, last day of training camp an NBA representative should measure and weigh every player barefoot and in their underwear.

definitely for size 15+. i'm a casual sneakerhead, and most of my nikes(size 11.5-12) gives me 1 1/2 inch lift when i first buy them and it gradually goes down to 1 1/4 inch. hyperdunk, hyperfuse, kobe, jordans and etc. i think one is usually with air max.

no doubt shaq's clown size 23 shoe is easily 2 1/4 inches thick.

I go back-and-forth on this issue. Sometimes I enjoy it an other times I feel like it's a very dumb and pointless thing to discuss; because, let's be honest, who cares if a player was measured at 6'6.75" w/o shoes, but is listed at 6'9"?

It's up to the team to list the heights of their players, they are just going to round up and go with the height in shoes. There's inconsistency because there's no mandate on accurate listings, because it's really not important to be honest.

If these guys heights were listed without shoes, people who meet them would say "Xyz is taller than he was listed at, Im 6"3 and met Dwyane Wade and he was taller than me".

We have draftexpress now, we know what most of these guys heights are with or without shoes.

If I were in the NBA, I'd be listed at 6'1 190.....ala Chris Duhon.

die hard fans like myself do care. it's like finding out santa clause doesn't exist. i was extremely disappointed when i found out patrick ewing wasn't a legit 7fter.

and it just makes NBA look like a 2nd rate organization. NFL does a great job being very accurate.

i'm 6ft 2 in the morning 6ft 1 1/2 at night(i've had herniated disc 3 years ago). i would've been listed at 6ft 4 if i was measured in the morning because I sometimes put dr. scholl to ease my backpain when i hoop which adds another 1/2 inch to my 1 1/2 inch thick nike.
