Contrary to what people may say, it's not for nerds anymore. Especially in the last couple of years I have noticed the influx of hot chicks in costume.

I know it's trendy and cool to be a nerd but let's face it those honey's are not nerds. They are there to make the nerds blush. They get off on that.

On top of that Comic Con is pretty mainstream. I expect hot chicks to be there now. It's an excuse for hot chicks to dress up like sluts. Kind of like Halloween in the summer.

I wouldn't consider her a nerd for the reasons you explained.

A nerd is a chick that let's herself go for whatever reasons, video games, anime, or anything of similar subjects. She is so obsessed with said particular subjects and is socially awkward, that she neglects to take care of her hygiene or her partner.

Just my 2 cents. I'm sure I can go on and on about it but this is a brief take on it.
