If you have to resolve to do something positive (i.e get in shape) then my feeling is that you really dont want to do it, you're only doing it because you feel like you have to. Resolutionists have their heart in the wrong place, which is why most of them fail very quickly. But if a few succeed, then that's great for them.

They do want it but can't take the pain that comes with it for long.

Basically just live healthier. Quit cigs, drink less, eat better, etc.
