I'm really excited about this game. First game under a new management which seems to get it and it's time for Alex to prove the haters wrong. Seattle doesn't scare me at all especially with Tavaris Jackson under center, whitehurst is much better imo.
keys for niners:
1. Blocking.. Give alex time and he'll have a good thing, give gore some holes and he'll break out.
2. Stop the run and put the game on Jackson's shoulder, also collapse the pocket and force him to throw in the pocket. Excited to see how the rookie Aldon Smith looks(he's been tearing up in camp+preaseason) and excited to see how he pairs up with Justin Smith and Ahmad Brooks
3. Win the turnover battle, don't give Seattle cheap points
If we can manage those three I believe san fran wins easily despite being an average team atm.
Yeah, of all the games on Sunday I was thinking this matchup deserved its own game thread.
That's what I was thinking. Of all the games, THIS is the one that has you really excited. If you're a fan of either team, of course you're going to be excited. But this is a game between two teams that combined to win 13 games last year. And both teams are likely to be in the Luck sweepstakes.
Alex Smith is awful. What's it been, 7 years and hes still shown nothing? He deserves no more chances.
Obviously you didn't watch him play in the preseason he played pretty well. And Alex Smith so far has played pretty good so far IMO. He's made good decisions with the football and completes smart throws to the open receiver. Not to mention he's had 7 different offensive coordinators in each season he's played. That's learning a new playbook each year. I've played football before, it can be a pain trying to memorize everything the first time its shown to you. Imagine for him, he's the quarterback who has to memorize everything.
