Default Report: Nets Working On Multi-Team Trade Scenarios To Acquire Howard Read more: http

The Nets will be prepared when they do. The creative mind of GM Billy King is already working, constructing, as he did in the pursuit of Carmelo Anthony a year ago, possible three- and four-team trade scenarios to pitch when Smith is ready to talk. An offer with Brook Lopez and draft picks is good, but since the Lakers have the potential to put All-Star center Andrew Bynum on the table, New Jersey knows it must add pieces to the pot.

I wonder if Dwight Howard has ever been to Brooklyn, even once. I'm guessing no.

Besides Jay-Z cutting a side-deal, I don't see why Dwight would want to go there.

Does he really have to? How much does Dwight want Brooklyn and to play with Deron?

As we approach the trading deadline, the Nets gain more and more leverage for Dwight cause at some point they'll have to realize that they'll lose Dwight for nothing. Seeing how no other team is willing to rent him for less than half a season, what's the alternative? The Lakers? Andrew Bynum? How compelled are the Lakers to think they are that much better off with Dwight than Bynum? What will they have to give up?

I think if you go into the negotiations with a stern proposition:This is what we're offering, this parts are interchangeable into this deal, and these players (Deron/Marshon) are completely off the table..they should be able to get something done.

Suburbs, outside of Philly in areas where doctors lawyers professors reside. Some athletes on other pro team like eagles and flyers live in South jersey across the bridge about 20-25mins away.

You don't think the Lakers would part with Bynum for Dwight? Of course they would. And they wouldn't have to give up too much more to match any Net offer. (assuming you are holding brooks out)

I think the NEts are clearly in the drivers seat - 100%. But I see it as very dangerous to make it where Orlando feels engaging the Lakers is a good idea. If a Bynum + Lakers 2 first rounders + trade exception to absorb Orlando's crap is on the table, i don't see how Nets get cheap.

If the Nets don't get Howard, they potenially put themselves on a path that they will have wasted years of acquired assets. Is playing hardball worth risking that? I'm not so sure, and i think if it was my job on the line, id really be hestitant to do that.

For you, its easy to say "hold out". For Billy King, holding out might get him fired. If he gets Howard, no matter what he gives up, he'll be lauded as a fantastic GM.
