That is 'paranoia' of those who want desperately to believe & they simply try to explain away the basic concept that beings who are inquisitive/intelligent enough to build crafts to explore the vast solar system to find us humans ,yet avoid close conatct with us. Why try to find us & then avoid us once they finally make it? Makes absolutely no sense.

Conspiracies & government cover ups cannot explain this away. These beings have struggled for years to reach us ,but then refuse to reach out to us(very intelligent beings in our own right) any meaningful way beyond 'our leaders' is ludicrous.

They would be more interested in meeting our scientist/educators anyhow & our scientist as we all know are DESPERATELY seeking them out. If these very intelligent terrestials existed I am certain their scientist would be just as desperate to meet us 'earthlings' to exchange ideas & better understand our universe .Again the whole UFO(aliens) thing is implausible.

Maybe they're observing us at the moment. Waiting for us to evolve to be helpful enough so they can enslave us and our technology.

Not only are we as humans relatively intelligent ,we also have wild imaginations. I wish we would rely more on our reason sometimes instead of our imaginations (although there is nothing wrong with being imaginative).

And maybe the more likely answer is they(alien) are just not there

That theory sounds like something from Mystery Science Theatre & a low budget alien flick from the 50's.

They can 'observe us' with advanced satellites/telescopes/ etc,..... but when undertaking the mindboggling enormous task of building a craft that travels faster than the speed of light that would certainly signal they are ready to investigate/initiate conatct.

Yeah, like the reason that tells us there's billions of galaxies out there and basically no chance we are alone in the universe.

I think if you read my earlier posts it is obvious that I am in agreement that there are probably some forms of life out there, but the notion that they have built advanced crafts to visit us & only to do 'fly bys' in a Kansas cornfield is ludicrous.

Damn!

I guess this part of your post was just a random contradiction to test if I read through the entire thread?

'There' as in flying overhead in earth air space, in Roswell or in the Kansas cornfields man.

I am telling you in my own words that I believe that life(in some form) probably exists on other planets but I just don't believe they have 'visited' us. Just preposterous to think beings intelligent/inquisitive enough to painstakingly build a craft that travels the speed of light(obviously in search of 'other life forms/planets)would routinely reach us & not contact us.
Go back & read the post.

Damn.

Of course we aren't alone. It's huge out there.

But the fact that this guy is an ex-astronaut really doesn't mean anything here. It's not like he's saying that he saw something when he was out there. He's just another guy who thinks he knows something just like everyone else. Why is his testimony given any more credence than anyone else's?

The recent expeditions to Mars have uncovered evidence that the red planet at one time supported life. That's one planet in our solar system, think about the innumerable amount of other galaxies that exist and it's not unreasonable to fathom that at least one other planet exists that supports living microbial organisms. Now whether these organisms are just living cells or highly advanced big-head **** probers is all speculation. But it's reasonable to suggest that life exists elsewhere beyond our planet and galaxy.

They found an earth-like planet a zillion light years away, read an article about it last week. Was the right distance from it's sun, only about twice the size of Earth (compared to new planets usually being Jupiter sized). Could even be mostly water like us.
