Hey fellow insidehoops fantasy players. I am creating a league this year and using the Head to Head Points system. Looking for something fresh after using the category system the last six years straight.

Yahoo is the service I will be using. There will be 14 teams in this league. This is my first time being commish for this type of scoring system. The default settings they have are below:

Field Goals Made (FGM) 1.0
Field Goals Attempted (FGA) -0.45
Free Throws Attempted (FTA) -0.75
Free Throws Made (FTM) 1.0
3-point Shots Made (3PTM) 3.0
Points Scored (PTS) 0.5
Total Rebounds (REB) 1.5
Assists (AST) 2.0
Steals (ST) 3.0
Blocked Shots (BLK) 3.0
Turnovers (TO) -2.0

I count eleven categories there. Most research I have done suggest having 9 categories instead. Could use a little advice here on any categories I should cut out and etc.

In terms of micro-management of the numbers, I wanted to make steals 4 points (1 above blocks), and change a point scored to the value of 1 and 3 point shots to the value of 4.

I also wanted to add in triple doubles and double doubles, but would that make too many categories?

Any help and advice is appreciated as I am a complete noob.

Thanks for reading and any input.
