Default SI.COM-CP3 Rumors

In SI.COM's "Truth & Rumors" section there is a rumor that the Blazers are attempting to either pry Chris Paul away from New Orleans or Mike Conley Jr. from Memphis - any deal with Paul would have to involve us doing some kind of sign and trade......and we'd probably have to take on Stojakovic's monster contract.........can you imagine Paul and Roy together???

Paul would cost us at least one of Oden, Aldridge, or Roy.

Conley - well he started to come on at the end of last season. At this point I would not be willing to give up to much for him.

There is a reason it is called "Truth & RUMORS".

I don't think Chris Paul and Brandon Roy could coexist.

Brandon Roy is the type of shooting guard who needs the ball in his hands to be effective otherwise he isn't doing much. His biggest flaw in his game is his lack of movement without the ball.

Chris Paul also needs the ball to be an effective player just like every point guard in the NBA.

I think right now, just like how they held onto Sergio to help transition Rudy to the NBA, the Blazers need Conley to help out Greg Oden. It'll give Oden somebody he has been close with for years in the locker room and maybe help him open up to the new environment.

There are a number of people that believe Oden needs Conley. I just don't subscribe to that notion. Oden is big boy (no pun intended) and he'll do just fine once he gets past the injury bug ... assuming he does.

The big question about Conley - is he the man the Blazers want at the point for a championship run. I am dubious that he can handle the job.

I think he can be a good point guard on a championship team in the future. He has pretty good court vision for only being in the league for two years and college for one. His decision making was a lot better at the end of the year and his shot was better also.

I could see Conley turning into the next Ron Harper.

A point guard who flys under the radar but pretty damn good.

I wouldn't give up Roy (not because I think he is better, but because I fell in love with Roy), but the other 2 yes. I also wonder if Paul was the guy Canzono was talking about on Oregon Live.

I wouldn't give up Roy either.

It's hard to say, but I feel like he knows how to lead a team more than Chris Paul can.

Paul can lead a team with assists, but Roy puts his teams on his back night in and night out and leads his team much the same way that LeBron, Kobe and Wade do. I don't see that often from Chris Paul, except him yelling at team mates.
