Default Vincent Jackson may be on the trading block

Quote:
Vincent Jackson might not be a Charger for long.

No one is predicting he will shipped off soon, and it does not appear other teams have been officially notified the Pro Bowl receiver is on the trading block. But several sources confirmed the Chargers talked with the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month and have made it known Jackson will remain available.

The Seahawks maintain interest, as do “several other teams,” according to one source. Among those teams, sources said, are the Washington Redskins. It is not known whether the Redskins have spoken to the Chargers regarding Jackson.

Two league sources said it was the Chargers who declined the Seahawks’ overtures. However, the price to secure Jackson could be a deterrent as well. Any team trading for Jackson will also have to sign him to a long-term deal.

Numerous sources indicated teams are already aware of the type of money Jackson and his agents are looking for — a slight bump up from the four-year, $47.5 million deal Brandon Marshall received when he was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins in April.

That would be a nice recieving corp. Jackson as the main guy, Smith as the #2, and Hicks at #3 would be awesome. You could have Hicks and Jackson out wide and let Smith go to work in the slot.

Vincent Jackson is criminally underrated. The guy is big physical and break in and out of routes extremely well for a man his size (he's the size of a tight end). He only had two drops last year and had a ton of clutch catches. Not to mention he's increased his production every year in the league. I'd gladly take him on my team. Really having a hard time understanding why the Chargers don't lock him up long term.

I'd kill for Jackson to go to Pittsburgh. I love a nice receiver who's so damn tall you can just chuck the ball up and he'll go get it. I still miss Plax.

Why couldn't he just sign his tender?

Austin did it. Does he think he is that much better than him? Yes, he's a great athlete. Can get up there and snatch the ball, dive for it, etc. But he's benefited a lot from having Rivers throwing him the ball. More often than not the ball is placed in his hands, or delivered in a way where he can exploit his physical attributes. It's not all on him. Lets not forget about his off the field problems either. He's a known boozer. Think he has 2 DUI's now. Dude needs a reality check.
