You probably have nearly half the country that thinks police brutality on minorities or something about muh russia is a bigger priority than the hurricane hitting Puerto Rico. Then you probably have like 30% of the country who thinks that the other half are communist infiltrators trying to ruin America. All I heard this week was about the whole kneeling thing and police brutality. And that's from both whites and blacks We're all out of ****ing touch in this country and no one is listening to each other. Blacks are acting like professional victims while Whites are acting like spoiled elitists complaining that the other "half" have no respect for the United States.

I'm just so sick of having Police Brutality as the "main issue" facing this country.

Preach on dude.

They'll just watch the games at home instead. Grown men aren't quitting the NFL over this.

Quelle surprise. The people behind these protests clearly don't understand their audience.

A kneel during the flag protest might have been well received in a different setting but this is NFL football we are talking about. These are the same fans that lost their mind when NBC aired an Obama speech instead of their Sunday night football pregame show.

'Police Brutality' was damn near a dead issue until Trump tweeted that up.

Now people are back to digging up race stats...but everyone is burnt out on this topic.

Honestly it feels like Trump purposely tried to rile us up in order to divert our attention away from something else.

Or maybe not...maybe he's just trying to appease his redneck following,

guess you didnt learn your lesson from last week

as the OP did prematurely with week 3's viewership, indicating it was down prior to Sunday nights game and even Monday's game, it actually ended up finishing with a 3% hike compared to last seasons week 3 rating as well as the pregame shows having a 15+% hike over last season too

in addition...as Number6 and UK2K have tried to do a few times in posting inaccurate articles with little to no merit on them, this seems to be the same for inaccurate numbers to ticket sales (for the very least, premature ticket sale details in comparison - go figure! )

Quote:
President Donald Trump’s call for an NFL boycott may have led some fans to turn off their TVs -- football’s ratings have been mixed so far -- but they’re not staying home.

Ticket sales for this weekend’s games are very much like those in Weeks 2 and 3, according to an analysis of resale data by SeatGeek. Median prices for games this weekend are about 8 percent higher than they were for last weekend’s games. Sales volume is flat.

"We have not seen a noticeable net impact on the demand for NFL tickets, one way or the other," said SeatGeek content analyst Chris Leyden. "This does not mean there has been no impact, but rather that any sort of boycott impact has been evened out by the added publicity and support for the sport."

Link: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ent-trump-says

though I wont hold this article as merit as it's too early to tell what the sales will be come monday night after the game, SeatGeek.com is the webs largent event search engine and hold much more value than the WashExaminer's source you have faith in. the premature notion on ticket sales is bonkers as we have 2+ full days before majority of the games even have kickoff.

also, guess which group is running with the false narrative prematurely too - coincidence? the anti-military claims, disrespect of the anthem/flag are still going strong inaccurately...comprehension are certainly not the strong suit of those who continue to believe this stance and push the agenda in smearing the players/NFL for a silent protest. again, one in which the US green-beret advised Kap to do instead of sitting, as kneeling showed respect and practiced by all branches of our servicemen

Hmm... I assumed that is exactly the reason why they chose to kneel while the anthem was played. Weird.

Oh, now they aren't protesting the flag because the public is calling them out on it, but they could have done as the Cowboys did and knelt (protested) before the anthem, and then stood during the anthem as a sign of respect.

No, they intentionally chose to kneel during the anthem for a specific reason. What was that reason, do you think?

Cause they knew it'd piss people off, right?

Exactly.

Game. Set. Match.

Yet you'll tune in this Sunday to watch and bet on NFL games, don't lie.

Me thinks the NFL will survive the Trump redneck exodus...their loss, some pretty good games coming up this weekend

as the saying goes..."they are just too big to fail"

NFL will prosper, no doubt about it...what else will they do on Sunday's?

i particularly love how guys like Hannity says he's boycotting the NFL and will rather watch college...and as Cowherd said, college doesnt have a notable matchup until the end of October.

they'll pretend they're going to boycott, however will sit quietly home and lie to their followers - all while the followers kick themselves when they run across an NFL top 10 on ESPN on Monday

Brilliant take
It is beyond obvious that this is an important motivation for many of them, and is the same thing motivating other radical minority causes (talks about unity, really just wants to tear down and destroy). Same mentality that has people tearing down statues and trying to make the past conform to their own prejudices--it is driven by resentment and a desire for revenge for past and present injustices. It is an open book really, and the only reason you can't tell is because you are barely literate.

Not that there's anything wrong necessarily with hating America, just you're deluding yourself like usual.

Isn't police brutality pretty much down every single decade since they started recording them in the first place? Main difference now is you can record their actions, so you see most of the fvckery when it happens.

Yeah, nobody listens to each other. It's basically just a bunch of adults acting like children yelling and crying at each other.

Trump hasnt paid nearly as much attention to Puerto Rico as he did Texas and Florida and you know it. He only recently (reluctantly) waived the Jones Act so more aid can reach the island. That should have been done the day after the hurricane. It's not just the tweeting, embarrassing as that is.
Why can't you be a bit more honest? The Weather Underground were a bunch of patriots, yah, sure. You use the patriot label as dishonestly as the people who agitate incessantly for war behind its aegis do. Honestly, it's mind-boggling how f*cking naive you are and how stupid your understanding of history is (if one can even call it an "understanding" at all). How can a collection of facts that have a wide array of possible interpretations possibly "vindicate" anything? It is clear you are projecting your own prejudices and value-judgments onto history, nothing more--history is not a f*cking morality tale--both sides are still argued regarding just about every historical event that has ever taken places (except when still coloured by the prejudices of the day--i.e. unhistorical emoting). What you are doing is taking solace in what is effectively a religious interpretation of historical events, without realising it, because you accept your own personal and subjective value judgments as a kind of absolute truth (this is a religious way of thinking btw).

Not to mention how many people didn't support Vietnam but supported Iraq, or supported Vietnam but not Iraq--nor even how many of the people who protested that war say nothing about Syria, Libya, Ukraine, Yemen, etc. (conflicts still raging that you are silent about, and that the US is largely responsible for). Convenient that.

You'd be surprised how quickly people can drop hobbies, especially ones that are pure escapism, like watching mass sports. I hope they do, for reasons aside from dumb rich kids taking a knee and thinking they're Jesse Owens or Muhammed Ali or something.

Your attitude encapsulates it perfectly: "what else will they do on Sunday's?"

How about get their own lives, improve themselves in some way, and stop living vicariously through other people? That'd be a start. Anyone who complains about this and yet still tunes in is a first-rate chump.

Why then? Why not before or after the anthem?

Because kneeling during the anthem would cause more of a commotion, yeah? Why would that be?

Because people would think its disrespectful, yeah? Ok.

So now that we have established WHY the players (or Kap) decided to kneel DURING the anthem, are you starting to understand now, or nah?

No.... hold up.

I never said I supported the kneeling.

I said I support their right to kneel. Why they're kneeling is a laughably joke, but nevertheless, they still have that right.
