Default the new enforcer?

I ain't gonna let them pick on my rookie," he explained, referring to Marcus Williams, who had destroyed the Knicks in the second half. "He was killing them out there. Every time he made a move and got by them, they weren't even going for the ball anymore -- they were just hitting him. I told Curly (Nenad Krstic),

'Look, we can't have any of this -- they're hitting our rookie. Next time they come down, let them know how it feels.' C'mon, somebody had to send a message."

well that's the thing. people say the Nets lack the enforcer, such as Kenyon Martin ,which is why they can't advance deep.

but who is gonna be an enforcer?

everyone is too mild mannered on the Nets.

Collins won't be afraid to get a flagrant, but he won't be the big tough guy intimidating people.

Krstic focuses on the game and the most important aspect: scoring.

maybe Boone can do something about it.

you may not know this, but Kidd is a decent trash talker. though not as brash as others, he still finds way of taunting the opposing guard to shoot a bad shot.

Boone is a weakling. Don't count on anything from him.

Boone is a weakling? That is what most thought about Krstic and he's built himself up over the past 2 years.

I really didn't like the Boone pick. Only negative from the Nets draft I thought. I never liked him in college. I'm calling a bust. I hope I'm wrong.

That's probably because most Euros are characterized as soft and most didn't seen him play. All they know he's a tall white Euro who was (and still is) skinny and needed to fill out. It wasn't likely that those who called him soft or a weakling saw much of him before hand. I, included didn't have high hopes for him coming into his rookie year, but it was cause I never saw him.

Boone on the other hand, is different. We had the opportunity to see plenty of him. He showed a lot of promise his freshman year playing with Emeka. He has the athleticism, what seemed like fire, but never seemed to develop it. Had good defensive instincts and needed work on his offense. I was disappointed. Charlie Villanueva showed a lot more passion in college, and CV's biggest knock was he didn't have any. Soon it was Hilton Armstrong that was showing the promise of what Boone should have been. What disappointed me the most was last year's NCAA tournament where 6-7 Jai Lewis completely man-handled Boone for a game high of 20 points. Unacceptable, in my opinion. Jai was getting whatever he wanted despite being slower and shorter.

Also throughout the entire tournament Boone was just stepping down from challenges. What seemed like a very promising freshman career where he was projected to be the next Emeka in leading the Huskies, a lottery pick promise, turned into a mediocre career and tales of potential.

But he's still young. He's a rookie and he can change. I hope he does. I pray he does, cause he's a Net and I don't want to see a wasted pick that could have gotten us Kyle Lowry (a guy I still think we should've taken over Marcus, but Marcus was a player that would impact us now), Steve Novak, Dee Brown, James Augustine, Paul Davis (not really sold on him either, but he did have the better career in college), Leon Powe, or even Alexander Johnson or Ryan Hollins. Actually, I probably would've taken Boone over Johnson and Hollins, but point is, I did not see much of him get better in college, and so I don't expect now. I hope he proves me wrong. I pray he does.

RJ has gotten into the faces of people before, but he's such a well spoken individual and a easy going guy that he's not gonna intimidate many people.
