The Raptors aren't paying Kapono to be a back up. Just like they aren't paying Ford to be the 2nd point guard. It's all about the money.

Ginobili started last year less than half of the games during the season and none of the playoffs. Does it make him a backup? I don't think so. And I think he is well paid, better than Kapono...

Yeah, exactly, he's a "starter". The guys starting the game do not have to be the main 5 guys. At $9 million, 28mpg he has the 3rd highest salary and 4th most minutes on the team. It's just the Spurs (winning) System that has the whole team playing rather than in the old days of 5 guys playing 44 and 5 guys backing up for 4.

Kapopo will start, and if Delfino shows some magic slashing and rebounding and D (as mentioned by others above) than Halleluiah, then Raps do indeed have sick depth!

Carlos Delfino was playing very well, after a slow start by his knee.

vs URU 27 min 2rb 4ast 2st 5pt
vs PUR 30 min 8rb 3ast 2st 15pt
vs MEX 30 min 11rb 5 as 3st 20pt
vs PAN 34 min 5rb 6as 2st 19pt
vs VEN 28 min 11rb 3as 0st 19pt
vs CAN 30 min 6rb 2as 1st 15pt
vs BRA 42 min 10rb 1as 5st 17pt
vs USA 24 min 4rb 3as 2st 7pt

Delfino was too much tired in ARG-USA's game, and shot of everywere missing most of his shots.

One on One with Sergio Hernandez (Argentina's Coach)

Is it hard for your to find some rest for Delfino, who played a lot today, and who’s a forward, which is the position for which you have less players available?

No, it doesn’t have anything to do with rest, because tomorrow we’ll play at 9 o’clock and we’ll have a free day on Friday. He had time enough to rest in the NBA.

if you are using that logic it would make more sense to start Kapono to spread the defense, and then bring in Delfino with the extra room to penetrate
