I can't tell if Stafford is taking the next step and becoming a truly elite QB in this league or if the Giants' pass defense is one of the worst I have ever seen in my life. I'm guessing it is probably a combination of the two.
Stafford has all of the physical tools to be elite. It looks like his mental capabilities are beginning to catch up with his physical makeup.
@ Carolina next week, so that will be a worthy test. I thought he looked just great though, incredibly slippery, every risk he took was well calculated. Everyone wants to solely credit CJ understandably, but that 2nd TD throw on the run across his body had ridiculous touch. The # of qb's able to make that throw is incredibly small. Hoping it's a case of him finally having a good OC and putting in the work to be great.
And I should add, having a #2 WR that wasn't merely picked off the scrap heap or constantly in and out of the lineup. It'd be interesting to see what Staff's #'s look like with either Burleson or healthy Broyles in the lineup versus without. And Tate's a good bit better than either of those guys.
-Were finally able to win at Baltimore, a place they haven't won at since 2009
-Andy Dalton looked pretty good. No major mistakes, either.
-Offensive line did a great job of protecting Dalton
-Bengals D was very strong, in most aspects. Didn't generate consistent past rush, but did so when needed
-AJ Green made an AJ Green type play when needed most.
-secondary got roasted a few times. Lucky Baltimore WR's dropped some passes.
-run blocking not very good, and where was rookie Jeremy Hill at?
-offensive playcalling got "cutesy" at times.
-Geno Atkins not 100 pct yet, and they will be without TE Kevin Eifert for a few weeks due to dislocated elbow.
Hill played and had some good carries, best news is burfict will be ready next week. the defense look alot worse without him, maybe the no fly zone will be up next week too.
Vikings over Rams, easily. Rams don't have a QB and the Vikings offense should be able to outscore the Ram's. Our defense is suspect with all the young players but I have faith in the addition of Zimmer. Vikings have been holding teams in ways I haven't seen in years this past pre-season (we went 4-0 thanks to great defense and good offense). Should be an easy game for the defense as I don't have any faith in Shaun Hill.
Ram's defense is stout as hell but Adrian Peterson has shredded them before and he will do it again. Hope Norv Turner draws up a ton of screens for CP 84. Put up a ton of yards. All Cassel needs to do is move the chains and with the amount of healthy offensive options he has, that should be easy: Greg Jennings, Kyle Rudolph, Cordarelle Patterson, and Jarius Wright look sharp as hell and they should make it easy for him.
Seriously, why we weren't favored on the road still boggles my mind. Rams were manhandled.
