Yeah, that sucks given that ONE played a decent amount of NBA and College basketball finals. But given that the NBL needed the money from what I assume is an exclusive TV deal with Fox I think it has to be this way.

There were mutterings of teams broadcasting games locally but I think the TV deal could negate that.

The good news is the deal with Fox is only for one year, if the teams from Sydney and Brisbane allegedly come back into the league then it may give more bargaining power to get a better TV deal.

I wish I could watch NBL, but it's not on free to air ... And I was never really familiar with any of the players, apart from Andrew Gaze (and a few others) , I saw him at Melb Airport once :P.

I feel like an idiot, when I was reading the link I was like Cantbuya Basket ? :S is that an Aboriginal word? I will read it when I have some time lol :P

I'll be off shiftwork in October which means I won't be working nights, so I plan on going to games whenever possible. I briefly flirted with the idea of getting season tickets, but decided against it.

That's going to really hurt the Tigers chances, and with the loss of Barlow, Ebi Ere and Stephen Hoare, who is going to step up for you guys, you know Wortho will give you numbers but will he have anough of a supporting cast to get the W's, if they can't, even when Anstey comes back are they going to be too far behind to catch up?

That's my concern with the Tigers anyway.

Further to the Melbourne Tigers chat. I would go as far as saying that they aren't as deep as they were last year, they lost some key players and now with Anstey gone for at least half a season they need to start looking at an import. I know they talked about being an 'all aussie' team but its getting to that stage now.
Ben Knight would be a nice addition to them coming off the bench, kinda like how Stephen Hoare did last season.
