The American youth needs a face-lift. I'm all for this; Obama, send some of those little fuckheads my way and have them wash my car while you're at it.

There have been numerous military drafts in this country, in just about every decade of the 20th century. Men aged 18-25 even had to register for selective service during the Reagan administration.

pretty sure its not a military thing. and besides, most nations have a mandatory military service (france, israel, etc). its how you pay back your social obligation to the nation.

also, PN, I see you quoted the 13th amendment. what do you think of a wartime draft in that light?

**** you still have to. its illegal to not register for selective service when you turn 18.

The 13th Amendment was ruled to not apply to military drafts sometime in the 20s.

If its part of a school time program thats fine with me. If its 'community service' type **** that you have to fulfill a certain amount of hours in your free time then thats pretty lame. Not enough info to go on...

I swear you people on the right here cry about everything before they ever happen, or we know any specifics about what you're constantly pretending to cry about

I think the key word here is mandatory...

I saw Rahm Emmanuel on TV talking about kids either doing this in their free time in the summer or breaking it up over time... but he did say all will be compelled to do this....

unless its outright military service, I dont understand where the legitimate need is for something like this

I think I might be in trouble. I honestly have no recollection of having done that, but then again my entire college experience is quite blurry.

Absolute ****.

You couldn't be more useless to these forums if you tried, you bland **********.

See I'm good at a lot of things. You, on the other hand are a jack of no trades. You are genuinely useless and don't add anything to this forum apart from an ultra-pretentious and boring slant on things that don't concern you. The only reason you aren't castigated and marched out of these forums like a BULLS/KB42PAH is because you are so bland noone even notices you anymore.
