Default The Dialogue in Pulp Fiction

when I first watched this movie back in the day I thought the dialogue was insanely good and some of the best I had ever seen. Line after line of pure gold.

The movie was on cable over the weekend and after having not seen it in a long time, I found the lines to be lame, efforted and reeking of geekiness. I really wanted to smash every character in the face. The movie is so dated now it is kind of sad.

Did this happen to anyone else?

I could understand not liking the dialogue a second time around, but what I don't understand is how it sounds dated. Explain that one to me, please.

I guess that stems from the fact that people were dropping lines from that movie in daily speech relentlessly in the nineties. I found the movie annoying and it remind me of the people and sh*t nineties. I will still rate it very highly, but unlike other flicks, I won't rewatch it every now and then.

We're all different, but I don't think that should matter. Other people shouldn't affect your opinion on a movie, as long as It's a good movie. I can't feel sorry for someone who likes ****ty films.

Tarantino is a geek and he has always infused pure badass characters with quirky character traits like foot fetishes or ridiculous comic book/old films/kung fu knowledge.

That's who he is, a movie store clerk that fantasizes being one of the superheroes he always reads about, and he accomplishes it through his characters. He does, however, have a great touch for over stylizing a certain genre, which is what has made moves like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, etc so alluring.
