New Jersey Nets forward Damion James has suffered a broken right foot. It is not yet known how much time he’s expected to miss. More details on the injury will be added to this page later today.
Im curious to this as well, because it was stated that he would be out for a period of 6-8 weeks, this is currently week 6 since the surgery. I would have thought that by now we would have another time table of some sort for his return. I really like this kid and want to see him playing for us again. Eventually enter him into the starting line-up again and have Outlaw off the bench.
I heard sometime within the next 2 weeks. He may start off in the D-league though

Rookie Damion James is finally out of the walking boot for the right broken foot he suffered Dec. 9. Johnson said the rookie could be headed for a D-League rehab stint.
"He's out of the boot finally. He's walking on the treadmill," Johnson said, noting James will go on the weekend trip to Indiana and Milwaukee. "Just to have him around the team. I like to see our rookies as much as I can."
Nothing is set in stone but Johnson is tentatively looking at Feb. 14 game against the Spurs for a possible return. And, if possible, they're discussing getting James some rehab work in the D-League.
"Just to get 35 minutes or 30 minutes and then come back to us, depending on where we are with our roster and our injury situation at that time. We haven't made that final decision yet," Johnson said.
Travis Outlaw had a lot of success as a sixth man playing in Portland, not so much as a starter in New Jersey.
So Avery Johnson plans to try the struggling Outlaw as a sub once Damion James returns from a broken foot later this month. The 6'8" James will be inserted in the starting lineup at SF, Johnson says.
"Eventually, we’d like to get (Travis) Outlaw back coming off the bench. That’s the long-range plan,’’ Johnson said. "We just can’t do it right now. We’re waiting on Damion James."
James, taken at #24 in the draft, started his first game vs. the Mavericks on December 9, but broke his right foot and has been out since.
